The windows update history, and the last update was 10 days ago. The sound drivers are the default Realtek drivers, as now updated to the latest version. I upgraded to windows 10 (pro 圆4) a few weeks after it was released and i never got a problem. I have a Dell Precision M4800 bought one year ago. I tried to do the same after disabling the audio at startup in the BIOS options, but still no luck. At the end of the day, absolutely nothing changedĪnd I never got an error message in the Device Manager.
I have no notifications or error sign or whatever.įrom Sound, Video and Game Controllers, first I tried to udpate the drivers, then to uninstall the audio drivers (+ Delete the driver software) and to reinstall it after downloading them from the Dell website. I checked also the Device Manager, but there everything appears to work fine. If I go to Control Panel -> Sound there I can see that the Playback and Recording tabs are empty (No audio devices are installed, it says), and all the options are greyed out. If I click on it, immediately the troubleshoot window pops up and promptly doesn't find any issue. The little volume icon on the notification bar now has a red cross on it, and if I hover the mouse I get a message which says "No audio output device is installed". Starting today, my laptop's sound card decided to let me down.
